Reflection4

In the last chapter I read,  I see Jimmy initially had not had many friends at school. Unlike at his old school, he stayed on campus for lunch. After he ate, he would frequently visit the library and watch educational CD-ROMS. One of his favorites, Classics in Animal Behaviour Studies, featured an intelligent, rebellious parrot named Alex.
Jimmy’s father spent a greater amount of time at work. His job involved creating new types of skin-related technologies. The end goal was to replace an old skin with a new one. Mostly geared toward aged, wealthy individuals, the new skin would offer a second chance at being young.

Reflection3

Connection between Biotechnology and economics.

Indeed, biotechnology can create great deal of benefits for social economics.
In military, various useful weapons would be invented based on bio-tech, then produce and sell. I'm sure other countries that have lower tech. would offer an acceptable price.
In agriculture, biotechnology can increase the efficiency of producing and make up more kind of fruits and vegetables, which couldn't be good ways to make much more benefits?
Especially in medical realm, bio-tech would bring unprecedented improvement of finances. Lets make a easy example: as you know, clone is one of technology under bio-tech, and we're also able to clone organs! That means once people get serious disease on one of organs or lose one part of their body such as arm or lag, doctor can clone a new one totally same as the old one in order to replace the broken one by bio-tech. I think no matter how overstate the price is people are still willing to pay for it, which we can know how horrible the benefits the hospital will get.

Reflection2

I find myself has already got into this book after keeping reading a few pages of "oryx and crake".
Snowman walks along the obsoleting beach and tells story to those new human chirlden who all have same prefect appearance and pyhsical firgure but different color of skin made by "crake". In fact, they are all Crake's next generation. They show great deal of interests to Snowman's everything; they are curious about his background and keep asking question to him.
I find out that the main character which is Jimmy, the snowman, has a very impressive childhood which he starts to recall when he stands in the "doom".

his parents didn't treat him with great deal of care than other parents do, and
usually blame little Jimmy of various minor reasons.

I am going to keep going on this book, and I hope all students of our class have a good time with their books!

comment1 for "oryx and crake"

"Oryx and Crake" is a science fiction written by a canadian author named Margaret Atwood, which talks about the story of the only man named Jimmy(snowman) surviving after the worldly overwhelming calamity of pestilence.
I choose this book simply because it is a science fiction and I believe most male teenagers dig it!
currently I have ony read two chapters which were wouderful but included a great deal of vocabuary needed to be looked over by my dictionary, therefore, it took me more time to read this book than others. In spite of this, I still need to overcome the diffculty because I know this is a effective way to improve my English!
I hope I will learn something form "Oryx and Crake"1
