Time passes silently, we've almost been the end of terms as we take glance at the calendar unconcientply. In this week we've been through the first project of csc104 which requested us to build a maze. In the duration of the project, we've met some useful functions that we had to define them ourselves. For example, "count-in" helps us to count how many cells adjacent to the given cell; "random-element" gets us a random cell in a list; "try-move" prevent the catty from move off the grid and move on rock and shrubs. Frankly, first time seeing the project I felt tough as we have never been asked to do such a huge task. Secondly it requests us to be very careful about every single clause and make sure we do right as far otherwise we cannot move on. As we doing it, one main problem is rocks and shrubs were filled all over the maze except one cell where the catty stands on. After checking all the functions over and over we found out the bug was on function "try" since we set the wrong condition. Another problem was how do we make the catty cannot move off the grid. Finally we got it because we set "and" instead of "or" for the boolean which was very dump.
All in all, we made it perfectly ( I think..) at the end. I first time find how excited and overjoyed my partner and I when we see the catty is actually move in the maze smoothly. It's really expressive and I appreciate those moment when we find out the problem and solve them one by one until we make it. : )

First slog for CSC104
Well. It's been a long time I haven't post something over here and
now I come back : ).
In the second year of university, I 've decided to enroll CSC104 since I 've seen lots of my friends playing different types of software such as python, language of r, language of c and so on by clicking their keyboards rapidly. Maybe it is men's natural instincts that be fond of cars computers, so I think that's why I choose to take this course. First contact with computer I was 10 years-old and I used to play mini games on it. Then as the rapid development of technology, Internet has been popularized over world. numerous of people found their chances and succeed on internet. Therefore, I feel obliged to learn something on computer which makes me at least know more about it. My goal at this course is to understand the basic things of Dracket and able to edit image (building tower?!) and use other functions. At last, I wish we all have a nice term!

Expiry Day ( updated!)
"Expiry Day"
Tik tok, tik tok
Flowers are blooming
Babies are crying
And there is a car moving on the street
Time is passing
Tik tok, tik tok
Flowers are withering
People are getting old
And the car is slowing its speed
Time is passing
Tik tok, tik tok
Flowers drooped
people passed away
And the car seems can move forever so long as there is enough fuel
Opps, its engine broke just now
Time is still passing, seeming only time does not have its expiry day.
Okay, my poem shown above is talking about the expiry day as the title of the poem. its theme is that everything has a expiry day but only the time as the last sentence of the poem. And now I'm going to show how do i publish it in public.
First I post my poem on Facebook which is one of the biggest communicate websites, so if I put my poem on this website there would be many people see my poem, and as long as my friend share the status I post there would be more and more people on Facebook see my poem.
For the second step, I post up my poem on everywhere near by my home in order to gain the more view of my poem.
Frankly, such behavior may cause my neighbor feel annoyed or disturbed, but if so long as they read my poem and make them think more it worth it. At that time I believe my neighbor wouldn't feel exasperate anymore.
Lastly there's a crazy idea coming out from my brain which is post my poem on my sister's backpack! so as she on the way to school and home, or in school, there would be numerous students see my poem and think more!

english poemhomework
1. What affect is achieved by Birney writing in verse rather than as a short story?
By writing in verse, it allows the reader to see the atmosphere and mood。
2. What are 3 major themes in "David" and explain what these are
Love: It's good to be in love when you are still young.
Friendship: David asked Bobbie to throw him off the cliff so that he can die instantly rather than die in pain. It must be hard for Bobbie to make the decision to kill his best friend.
Tragic: If you truly loves someone, you will kill them, if that's the best thing to do for them. The love of Bobbie and David ended in the death of David and it was Bobbie who's given no other choice but to throw him off the cliff.
Pain: the seriously injured David, facing death slowly. The pain of watching your love one dying Slowly, heartbroken. The pain of killing your love ones and the pain of falling off the cliff, heartbeat quickly slows down.
3. Identify 2 examples of effective imagery (quote & explain)
(Steps to the sun's retreats):
the sun slowly disappearing. The dawn of the day.
(To snow like fire in the sunlight).
4. Identify and explain 3 different poetic devices which Birney uses effectively to help convey his theme.
The peak was upthrust
Like a fist in a frozen ocean of rock that swirled
Into valleys the moon could be rolled in. (Imagery and hyperbole)
And none but the sun and incurious clouds have lingered
Around the marks of that day on the ledge of the Finger
( couplet)

Found Poem of Lord of flies
The Conch
Form William Golding's Lord of the Flies page11-201
Claude hu
11)A worthy plaything
11)The shell was pretty and interesting
11)A conch;ever so expensive, you'd have to pay pounds and pounds and pounds.
11)In colour the shell was deep cream with fading pink.
11)Into a little hole, and the pink lips of the mouth,
11)Lay eighteen inches of shell with a slight spiral twist and covered with a delicate, embossed pattern.
12)Immediately the thing sounded
11)A deep, harsh note boomed under he palms
12)Moo-ed like a cow
12)Spread through the intricacies of the forest and echoed back from the pink granite of the mountain.
12)From the tree-tops
12)Clouds of birds rose, and something squealed and ran in the undergrowth
20)Ralph smailed and held up the conch for silece
31)"I'll give the conch to the next person to speak. He can hold it when he's speaking"
31)"and he wom't be interrupted except by me"
44)"Oh shut up"
44)"I got the conch," said Piggy in a hurt voice."I got right to speak."
45)All the boys except Piggy started to giggle.
189)"I got the conch.I'm goinng to that Jack Merridew an'tell him.I'm" Ralph said
195)"I say! you voted for me for Chief.Didn't you hear the conch?"
196)The blood was flowing in his cheeks and the bunged-up eye throbbed
199)Surprisingly,there was silence now;the tribe were curious to hear what amusing thing he might have to say.
200)"Which is better-to have rules and agree, or to hunt and kill?"
201)The sea breathed again in a long slow sigh, the water boiled white and pink over the rock
201)And when it went, sucking back again, the body of Piggy was gone
201)"See? See? That's what you'll get! I meant that! There isn't a tribe for you any more! The conch is gone!"
201)"I'm a Chief!"
188)The forest re-echoed;and birds lifted, crying out of the treetops, as on that first ages ago

Group work-poem
Fire on the mountain
Nobody said anything
Laughter and cheers
He must have had a nightmare
He say he saw the bestie
But there isn't a bestie
The Snake-thing
But there isn't a snake
Shut up! wait! listen!
Has anyone got any matches
Not for the two of us
What do you mean
We haven't made a fire
That was no good
We used his specs
Fire on the mountain

Reflection9
Reflection 9
I've really spent a huge part of time of the weekend to get this novel done, even sometimes I just keep turning the pages without reading it till next chapter, and not only have I learnt a big amount of vocabulary from the book but several useful sentence structures to describe scenes.
I nearly finish this book so far, and I feel good to be writting the last reflection of this book.
For the book "oryx and Crake", indeed, it's a good book attracting people by it's words and plots.
In conclusion, it's very funny and impressive to read a canadian novel in this advanced way. A group of students read same novel, interacting each other's feeling about the book, doing group project relating to the book! I wish my groupmates and I can do this funny Canadian novel session again!
